This phase of Willow Street construction is nearing completion. The majority of the roadway pavement for this phase has been completed. Since the last update the contractor has completed the south two lanes of pavement, the turning lanes, concrete curb and gutter, miscellaneous concrete for intersections and approaches. The roadway has started to take shape in the last two weeks. Since the last update all of the remaining underground utilities have been finalized. The roadway has been graded and cement stabilized and gravel has been placed along Willow Street. The sidewalk on the south side of Willow Street has been started and will be finished in the coming weeks. In the last three weeks there has been a lot of progress on the underground utilities on the project. Crews have finished installing the storm sewer for this phase of construction and the storm sewer boxes will be finalized in the coming days. Crews have completed the excavation of the excess material along Willow Street. The sanitary sewer on Willow Street has been completed for this phase of work and the underground utility crews are continuing on the storm sewer installation. There were various fire hydrant adjustments and water main stub outs that were completed since the last update. The temporary access road was completed from Praireside Ave to the east portion of Willow Street. The temporary access allows customers access to local businesses and allows residents and emergency vehicles into the neighborhood. The removals on Willow Street have been completed, and crews are working to remove the excess material from the roadway. This work is scheduled to be completed by the end of next week. Starting today 4/22 Willow Street was closed from Shebal Ave to the east side of Honeysuckle Drive. The Honeysuckle Dr/Willow St intersection will remain open during this phase of work.
