October 15th - Project Update

The Willow Street construction project has made a lot of headway since the previous update.
The center turn lane on Willow Street west of Minnesota Ave has been extended. Shoulder extensions were added to the roadway, it was milled down, and an asphalt overlay was completed. This section of roadway was striped and is back open to traffic.

Willow Street remains open to traffic (single lane in each direction). As work has progresses the open lane of traffic has changed from the inside lane to the outside lane but for now the outside lane of will remain open as the work on the center median is taking place.
The landscaping is well underway in the center medians. The contractor estimates about 1-2 additional weeks for the landscape features (boulder wall, concrete curbing, planter boxes) and then about 1 week to finalize the plantings.
The seeding has been completed in the urban section of the project. The seeding west of Tiger Way is scheduled for the upcoming week.

All utility and roadway pavement work has been completed on the project. The streetlights have been installed, and the contractor is working to finalize the wiring, once this is complete the lights will be energized.
The roadway striping will be the last task to be completed on the project. This work is currently scheduled for the last week in October.
In summary the remaining items for the project are seeding west of Tiger Way, streetlight wiring, center median landscaping (including planting),
and striping of the roadway. Once this work is complete the roadway will be fully opened to traffic!
