Willow Street Closure Update

Starting today 4/22 Willow Street was closed from Shebal Ave to the east side of Honeysuckle Drive. The Honeysuckle Dr/Willow St intersection will remain open during this phase of work. See the map below for updated closure. The map includes the detour route as well as local traffic routes.

Project update:

The sanitary sewer installation progressed from east end of the project (just west of Casey's entrance at Willow St) to the Shebal Ave/Willow St intersection. Completing the sanitary sewer in this location allowed crews to build a temporary access road on the north side of Willow St for business access.

Plainside Ave pavement has been completed and is open for traffic. Crews completed the sidewalk on the south side of the road and have reconnected the trail across Plainside Ave. The sidewalk on the north side of Plainside Ave will be installed in the coming days.

Plainside Ave Cross Walk, Sidewalk, and Pavement

Crews have begun removing the existing roadway and sidewalk on Willow St in the newly closed portion. The removals and initial grading will take 2-3 days to complete. Sanitary and storm sewer will follow close behind the removals. Once both the sanitary and storm sewer are completed additional grading work will commence.

The bore at Tiger Way was completed last week and the excavations near Tiger Way have been backfilled. Crews have now moved to the Minnesota Ave/Willow St intersection to perform the bore under Minnesota Ave. This work will not affect traffic.
